Prescott Gallery is pleased to present Objecthood, a group exhibition curated by Michael Villarreal, a second-year Master of Fine Arts student in printmaking at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. By redefining formal aspects of an object through process and material, Objecthood looks into various works by the first and second year graduate students at UNL. Some works deal with the unexpected use of materials that display an effortlessness in their manipulation while others use traditional methods to manipulate the subject matter. The selection of work exemplifies a diverse approach on how an object is represented through a range of personal ideas all of which question the object’s identity.
Artists included in the exhibition: Larry Buller, Louise Deroualle, Stuart Gair, Bob Hall, Bryon Hartley, Phoebe Jan-McMahon, Wansoo Kim, Patrick Kingshill, Zora Murph, Kyle Noble, Pecos Pryor, Emily Reason, John David Richardson, Emily Wiethorn, Stephanie Wright, Rosana Ybarra.
Prescott Gallery is an exhibition space dedicated to showcasing contemporary art. The gallery serves as a connection point between the Lincoln community and the students and faculty at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln Department of Art and Art History.
